4. How Do I Use Quick Colour Picker?

4-A. Program Controls

a) Stay On Top, Minimize & Exit:

Quick Colour Picker has all of the standard Windows program controls, except Maximize, and also contains two additional controls. You can set the program to "Stay On Top", expand or contract the advanced features, minimize the program to the Windows task-bar, or close the program completely by exiting it.

The "Stay On Top" is a small thumbtack icon at the lower right corner of the "RGB Values" box. This allows you to keep the colour picker "on top" or in front of all of your running programs so that you can view it easily.

The "Help" icon is shaped like a question mark. Clicking this will display the program's "About Box" which contains a "Help" button that links to this file.

$$The "Save Settings" icon is shaped like a wrench turning a nut. Clicking this will save Quick Colour Picker's current state to disk so that you can keep your current options and settings.

The Expand/Contract button has a green arrow pointing downward and away from a miniature picture of the Quick Colour Picker window. Clicking this will either hide the advanced options from view, or make them visible.

The "Minimize" button is the button with the flat line along its lower edge and is located at the upper right corner of the window. Clicking this allows you to send the program to the task bar when you want it out of the way.

The "Close" option is also at the upper right corner of the window. It can be recognized by its large "X". This will close Quick Colour Picker, but not before asking you permission first. If you have made any changes to your colour list (of which will be mentioned later) Quick Colour Picker will ask if you would like to save them before the program completely closes.
